Your Mac’s activity.
A glance away.
See CPU load and memory usage while you work, then open a compact view of the busiest apps. The expanded menu bar readings shown here are planned for the next release; the current download is 1.0.0.
Before and after a heavy workload
Try the quiet Mac, local AI model and browser AI examples in the preview. They illustrate how readings can change when a workload starts. All numbers are examples, not benchmarks or measurements of your computer.
CPU and memory mean different things
The overall CPU reading describes load across cores. A process can show more than 100% in Activity Monitor because 100% represents one core. Memory used is useful context, but memory pressure says more about whether your Mac is struggling to satisfy demand.
What about local AI models?
A local model shares your Mac’s resources with other apps. The preview helps you understand that tradeoff. It does not report tokens per second, model quality or GPU utilization. If you use a hosted AI service in a browser, WhySlow can see the browser’s local load, not the provider’s servers. Read the local AI performance guide.
When to open the full app
A high reading is a prompt to investigate. Open the full diagnosis to compare processes and memory pressure over time, and save work before quitting anything. The menu bar cannot establish the cause of a slowdown on its own.
